IHOP Opens Its First India Outlet at DLF Cyber Hub, Hosts Blogger Meetup with Restromark

  • By Priya Sharma

Gurugram, June 1, 2017 — The International House of Pancakes (IHOP), an iconic name in American breakfast dining, has officially launched its first-ever outlet in India at the bustling DLF Cyber Hub, Gurugram. The brand, franchised by Kwal’s Catering Group, made its Indian debut amidst much fanfare and a buzzing crowd of food lovers.

The event was graced by Gary Moore, Vice President, International at DineEquity, Inc. (IHOP), who emphasized the brand’s legacy and consistent quality. “We’re proud to bring IHOP to India, the 20th country in our international expansion. Our pancakes and all-day breakfast offerings are made fresh to order. While the core menu remains authentic, we’ve introduced India-specific dishes like lamb omelets and removed beef items,” said Moore.

Restromark Hosts IHOP India’s First Blogger Meetup

Adding to the excitement of the grand launch, Subhash Sahni, the Founder of Restromark, hosted IHOP India’s first food blogger meetup, giving an exclusive preview of the menu to the city’s leading content creators. The event was a perfect example of leveraging Cloud Kitchen Marketing and Zomato Marketing to build authentic word-of-mouth buzz and community engagement.

Some of the top food influencers present at the meetup included:

  • @NomNom.Diaries – the in-house blog curated by Restromark
  • @foodie_incarnate (Amar Sirohi)
  • @VeggiePaaji (Tanmay Sharma)
  • @thatveggieblogger (Nikhil Sharma)
  • @spicysuruchi ( Sucheta Raghuvanshi)

The bloggers sampled IHOP’s famous pancakes, omelets, and shakes — and gave the dishes a big thumbs up. The crowd favorites were the classic buttermilk pancakes and thick, creamy milkshakes.

“IHOP is not just about food, it’s about family dining and casual indulgence,” said Sameer Lamba, Managing Director, Kwal’s Group. “With prices averaging around ₹400 per person, we are making international dining affordable and accessible.”

DineEquity’s Vision for India and Zomato Marketing Integration

IHOP’s entry into the Indian market is backed by a strategic growth plan. “We’re planning to open three more outlets in the NCR this year and later expand to cities like Bangalore,” Moore confirmed. The restaurant’s approach focuses on maintaining global quality standards while tailoring offerings to local tastes.

Restromark, a leading restaurant marketing agency, is actively supporting IHOP’s India marketing push by combining cloud kitchen marketing strategies with Zomato promotions to maximize visibility and engagement.
